This website is general information only. It is not legal, engineering, or regulatory advice, and it is not advice about any particular site. We don't offer consultations or answer site-specific questions.

Stormwater requirements depend on your exact site, county, city or MS4, and the current permit text. Rules, forms, and fees change. Before you act, check with the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES), your local stormwater or land development office, and, where required, a licensed professional engineer, landscape architect, or Tier B land surveyor.

SWPPP HQ is not affiliated with or endorsed by SCDES, Clemson University, Greenville County, or any other agency, and it doesn't use any agency's logo or seal. The people who run it are not lawyers, engineers, or certified inspectors.

We don't currently publish a directory of inspectors or companies. If we add one, it will be labeled, and any featured listing will be marked “Featured (ad)”. It is advertising, not an endorsement.

The official permit, SCR100000, and the agencies that enforce it have the final word. If this site disagrees with them, they are right and we are wrong.

We try to keep this site accurate and current, but we provide it 'as is,' without warranties of any kind, and information may be incomplete or out of date. Using this site, or contacting us, does not create a professional, engineering, legal, or client relationship. Links to other sites are for convenience; we don't control them. To the extent the law allows, SWPPP HQ and its owner is not liable for any loss arising from use of or reliance on this site.

Some links may later become affiliate links to erosion-control supplies. If they do, we'll label them, and we may earn a commission at no cost to you.
